First Cousins

Lois Goodson sent me a large original photo of "First Cousins" of the Fisher family. The Grandkids of "Grandpa Fisher".

Grandpa Fisher had 5 girls altogether and no sons. The girls were Della, Emily, Mabel, Vera and Ina. These are most, but not all, of their kids.

Missing from this photo are my Aunt Wilma Dixon Thacker, plus the Reid kids... Hubert, Herschell and Hazel. Which begs the question... why were all three of Aunt Mabel and Uncle Earl Reid's kids given names starting with the letter 'H'?

In the back row are Don Dixon, Jerry Dixon, Jim Dixon, Helen Smerdon Chalcraft, Ray Elliott, Vernon Elliott and Bob Elliott.

In the front row are Ethel Smerdon Powell, Margaret Smerdon Ellis, and Bob's wife Jan.
Note: Uncle Don provided some more information about this photo.
The picture that you emailed me was taken sometime in the early 80's on a Sunday in Fairfield. We all had lunch at a restruant and then Bob Elliott gave a presentation on our family tree and your Dad also had several things to say. Jim, your Dad and I drove down and back the same day. Wilma did not attend.
He also reported that the lady on the far right in the first row was Bob Elliott's wife, Janice. The name Linda Shilling is written on the back of the photo. I'll have to double-check.
