Mabel was Della's sister.
She was a teacher for a couple of years. She and husband Earl ran a country store for 25 years known as Black's store. According to my uncle Don, it was a large room attached to their home.
She had three children: Herschel, Hubert and Hazel.
She lived to the age of 85.

This is interesting, i was just searching the internet to see if i could learn a little more about family and found this. Mabel was my great grandmother.
Great!
Did you know her? My uncle Don, who would be a cousin of your grandparent and nephew of Mabel, wished I had met her kids when I visited Albion last summer. Are you still in the area? There is a lot of Fisher family history in the blog and I have been promised more on the Fisher family from another of my cousins in the near future.
My email is gleedixon@gmail.com if you have any stories to tell of those generations.
I have been amazed at the family history... even of my dad's generation, that I did not know until I started the blog last year. There are many great photos. Let me know if you have any old photos of Mabel or her relatives that are not already on the blog. Perhaps one with her kids... which I guess would include your grandparent.
Unfortunately I was about nine months old when she passed away, so i remember her vaguely. She had three children Hubert Reid, (who also passed away quite awhile ago), Hazel Reid Mason (my grandma), and Herschel Reid. Uncle Herschel lives on the farm where he grew up, and my grandma lives about a half mile west of where the Black Store was located. Sadly, the black store is gone, and the land that it sat on has been sold and has been since I can remember. I've grown up in the area as well. My dad (grandma's son) owns a farm just across the field (south) from my grandma, and I've sworn I'll never move away from the area since it is God's Country!
It is absolutely amazing to see all the information on the past generations. To be honest, I didn't know much about Grandma Mabel's family before she married and had children, I'd always wondered. So a big "Thank You" to you and whoever else has put so much time and effort into this site.
