The Fisher Clan

Recognize anyone in the picture?

How about Della May Fisher?

I had to ask cousin Curt if he knew where she was in the picture. He emailed back with that information and more! Turns out he actually remembers meeting her father and vaguely remembers the farm:

She is the oldest of the girls in the back row on the left side of the picture as you are looking at it. She is standing just to the right of Greatgrandpa John who is holding one of Grandma's younger sisters. I remember meeting Greatgrandpa "Rude" as he was known by most people when our family went to Illinois to visit. I was very young but I do remember him sitting down cross legged on the ground. He was small and lean, very limber and worked hard of course throughout his life on the farm. The house, barn and sheds were all kept nicely painted. It was a beautiful place--but I wouldn't even be able to find it nor recognize it now I'm sure.

This is a 1910 photo of the family of John Fisher. Della's father, referred to within our family as "Grandpa Fisher", lost his first wife and remarried. Della, the oldest of John Fisher's children (from the first marriage), helped to raise her siblings before marrying George Dixon. We hope to identify some other folks in the picture some day.

Curt Thacker supplied this photo.
