Fisher and Bell Family Charts (from Curt Thacker Feb 2008)

The Dixon side of the family is fairly well documented. We also know some about the ancestors of my grandmother, Della May Fisher. Thanks again to Curt and his parents, Warren and Wilma, for supplying this information.

Della's father was John Rudolph "Rude" Fisher. Her mother was Marinda (or was it Marinda? see other posts!) Bell. See a previous post for a picture of the Fisher clan.

Della's mother Marinda died in 1919... a victim of flu. Then Della's father married Maude, who was Marinda's sister! I remember her being referred to as "Aunt Maude". In other words, Grandpa Fisher married two of Ned Bell's daughters... Marinda and Maude. Della was the oldest daughter of Grandpa Fisher and Marinda.

An interesting personal note... I have been reading The Memoirs of Ulysses S. Grant (free, online), considered to be one of the best autobiographies of all time. Based only on the first chapter, I tend to agree. And now I find out that my grandmother, Della, had an uncle (born in 1886) named after U.S. Grant. I suppose there were a lot of babies named after General Grant, at least up in the northern states!
