1920 Census Dixon Precinct

I failed to record the page number for Dixon Precinct in the 1920 census. The only listing in the precinct was:

Harry Glover, aged 25
Wife Sadie Glover née Dixon, aged 25
Lucy M. Dixon, aged 18

Joe Dixon (Sr.) died in 1917. There is no mention of Joe Dixon (Jr.), although I believe he lived elsewhere in the county since he may have gone into business by this time.

Tom and Alice Dixon Wick are not listed in Dixon Precinct. Alice was 32 at the time. They eventually owned the land that was the remaining Dixon property in Dixon Precinct, but Joe (Jr.) was still alive and the property may have been rented out or just used for farming. (The house would have been really old.)  (My grandfather retained his share of the oil rights upon his dad’s demise.) The Wick family owned lots of land for generations so Tom and Alice probably lived elsewhere in the county on Wick land.

On page 400 of 1140, the census for Albion Precinct shows:

Charles Crawford, aged 59
Wife Sarah Crawford née Dixon, aged 57
Mary E. Dixon, aged 38

So Mary lived with C.M. Crawford and her sister Sarah. I’m not sure if she was ever married. Mary and Sarah are siblings of Joe Dixon (Jr.).

Also in Albion Precinct was:

Charles Dixon, aged 62
Violet Dixon née McKibben, aged 48
Flossie, aged 18

Alfred Dixon, aged 45
Ida May Dixon née Stanhope, aged 44

Loren and Herman are dead. My grandfather would be presumably living at home with his dad. I’m not sure why Lucy was living with her sister, other than the possibility that the Dixon household, after the marriage to Kate Green Kellett, would have been very crowded and not afforded much privacy for a young lady.

Stella was 30 and probably married to Mr. Frankland at this time.
